BUSSARD GETS FULL CROSS COUNTRY, TRACK SCHOLARSHIP
Carrollton High School distance runner Emma Bussard signed a full scholarship to the University of North Carolina at Asheville for cross country and track. The two-time track state champion in both the 1,600 and 3,200 meter runs also medaled at the state level in cross country. PEOPLES RECEIVES TRACK AND FIELD SCHOLARSHIP
Carrollton High School senior Mauri Peoples has accepted an athletic scholarship to Garner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, N.C. The pole vault standout will join the university’s track and field team next year. Seated with Mauri for her signing are Gwen Engram, CHS track coach, and William O. Peoples, her father. Standing are Rayvan Teague, CHS athletic director, and Dr. Kent Edwards, CHS principal.
